[LMB] OT: Fantasy crushes

Faramir was excellent in the movies, but I rather wish they'd made just a 
hair more of the growing attraction between him and Eowyn -especially after 
they'd played up her attraction to Aragorn, who she knew was taken already. 
And I also wish they'd added a double wedding to that scene at the end. 
However, it's a movie - you have to pick and choose.

Elrond I'm not so fond of. A snob (you're not good enough for my daughter), 
a defeatist, and all too ready to bug out when the going gets tough. In 
fact, the parents of the heroes didn't come through too well in either book 
or movie: Denethor, barking mad. Theoden, "playing sub to some [bearded] [in 
the movie he was clean-shaven]top in a dress" as one of Steve Stirling's 
characters put it. Elrond, as given above.
