good grief.  i wish i had known htat.  in my library*  the sci fi/fantasy 
section has been inundated with "female psychic/ witch/ vampire hunter 
holding a knife" on the cover, and i think oh good, a macho girl is going to 
have an adventure and possibly kill things.    or at least, defend herself 
vigorously, since good girls dont attack, they only commit self defence :(

but no.  an allegedly macho girl, who has had adventures and possibly killed 
things in the past, is now going to have hysterics and/or make stupid 
descisions, is going to angst over the man in her life (or lack thereof, but 
he shows up quick)  and will have to be rescued by and/or have to kill her 
paranormal lover.

this is not the sci fi or fantasy heroine i was looking for.  feh.
