[LMB] Science in the Vorkosiverse -- and Companion

So...

In looking over the accumulating material for _The Vorkosigan 
Companion_, it has dawned on we its perpetrators that while we have the 
soap opera and romance angles more than covered, there's nothing about 
the science in this supposed science fiction.  The editors are now 
looking for someone who
1) is a VK fan, with
2) science and perhaps science writing street cred, who could
3) pen a short article, 2k - 5k words, on the science in my work, on 
rather short notice

I thought of John Gribbin, but he is alas too busy.  At that point, I 
was out of ideas, although there are a couple of bioscience folks here 
on the chat list to consider.  Does anyone else have any possible names 
to suggest?
