[LMB] China (was Gender roles; was Predators vs. Protectors)

A friend of mine and her husband have adopted three young daughters from 
orphanages in China. That's one way that China has exported its female 
population. Of course, even if the children did want to go back as adults, 
the exported daughters would not be near enough to meet the demand.

The demographic trends -- in both China and India -- where the population 
will be skewed noticeably male are not good.
