Lois put in a plug for Sylvia Kelso's latest book.  I haven't read that
one, but based on the Everran's Bane series I'm planning to buy
it.  Worth a close look at any rate.
(Caveat:  Looking at the first few pages of the online sample,
this new one has a very different stylistic feel.  But I think Kelso
probably knows what she's doing.)

And the Filk Ferengi mentioned Joe Giacoio (appearance at
Dragon*Con perhaps?).  Don't go watch this guy play guitar
if you're embarrassed being seen with your mouth open in
public.
