Even worse, on amazon.ca, when searching for livres en français, four of her books are listed as having been written by "Lois Bujol" with the final "d" left off. It made it hard to find them when searching.

I shopped Amazon.fr and found the books easily and set it up for the purchase. It came out to about €25 for the books and €25 for shipping.
Before finalizing on amazon.fr, I went to amazon.ca. The books were about 40% cheaper and shipping was lots lower. So, I ordered "Cordelia Vorkosiagan" and "Barrayar" in French.
While I was at it, I ordered the first Harry Potter book in French for my daughter (11 2/3) who is taking 2nd year French in middle school and my wife who got her first college degree in French. (I'll probably take a stab at reading it, too – I liked the entire Harry Potter series.)
I'd note that going through amazon.fr and amazon.ca was about as easy as the U.S. version. Those sites also knew me and my account - no sweat. While browsing around amazon.fr, I was amazed at how well I could muddle through it in French after all these years.
I tried this same reading trick with German and it didn't work at all. The common vocabulary in German just doesn't have many cognates with English, not like French. Spanish is somewhere in between.
Thanks for all the great responses. The book order has been placed.
Ed
