Dear Folks,
I installed (Sheep) wool, insulation in my home and find that it is very
efficient. Last few winters I have not had to use heating in my main rooms and
the first few days of a heatwave in summer are OK sans airconditioning too,
after a few days the ambiant air and walls are warmed up as my home is of
double brick with a tin roof, so on go the airconditioners.
I agree with Leslie that "batt" format is the best, for ease of electrician
access, ceiling repair etc. The sheep wool is treated with fire retardant and
is safe, it is cheap and has no cancer links and is a renewable resource. Your
roof space will have a slight "woolly smell", but I have found this not
unpleasant. Sheep wool insulation is also a good audio insulator, a must for me
as I live near main roads and 2 KM from an airport.
Regards
Lois Rasmussen
