Abdication is favor of next generation is a rarity among monarchs- just ask Prince Charles.  My sense is he'd be ... Leary about it.

I think he might abdicate when his heir is mature and (one assumes)
reasonably tested in competence in other posts. That might be say
25-30 years after DI I guess.
