Do you know how to convert a Philips DVD recorder? I have model
DVDR3400/17. I have already updated the firmware on it from the Philips
website, to the most recent version. Which I recommend, if you have one
and are able to follow instruction. It really improves the player from
being a bad choice (Wal*Mart on sale) to a decent appliance. But I
digress. If there is a procedure that would let me play a Japanese
Region 2 disc on it, I would be very happy. I could change the region
on one of my DVD-ROM drives, but there is a limit on how many times you
can do that, and I don't want to watch video on my computer, even if it
does have the only HD display in the house.

A link to a web site would be sufficient. Or, we can take this offlist,
if other listies object to the OT nature of the subject.
