I don't think you can get 300 dpi screen caps from movies. You mean
from tape or DVD? They aren't that high resolution. Even HD movies
aren't 300 dpi. On my 24" monitor, they are about 100 dpi. I guess if
you resize the image down to a smaller area for printing, it could end
up at 300 dpi.
Most commercial video oriented software can do a frame capture. I use
CyberLink Ultra to play video. It plays HD-DVDs and Blue Ray discs, if
you happen to have such a player on your computer. It can do screen
caps. It will not screen cap a commercial Hi-Def movie, however. That
is not currently permitted by the movie industry.
Anyone can do a basic screen cap by using the print screen key,
(CTRL-PRTSCR) and then opening Windows paint, and pasting into a new
picture. However, due to the implementation of a lot of the hardware
involved with importing video, it does not work for video. There, you
rely on your video software. Almost all software has some way of doing
a frame grab. The CyberLink People have a video editing suite, Adobe
has Premiere, (and Premiere Elements), and there are dozens more. Tell
here to go to Best Buy. She will almost certainly find something there.
Hey list! What's the name of a good open source video editing program
for Windows?
