Both are large, handsome, athletic men, smarter than they like to let 
on, who trail behind & follow the lead of someone they respect & 
acknowledge [albeit with greatest reluctance, on Ivan's part ;)] is 
smarter than they are.  They are also both very good-humored & useful 
at your back & in a fight.
