All I do is shelve, fiction by author/title and nonfiction by whatever 
makes sense at the time. A few years ago when I was alone in the house 
all weekend I brought in some card tables and alphabetized all the 
fiction; since then it's only been minor additions/subtractions. (A lot 
of my newer stuff is in e-book format, easier to store and sort.) We 
talk about Readerware but we've never done anything about it.
