OK...
One snerk as per request. A snerk, for those who tuned in late, is
Baen's Bar slang for a sample of prose from an unpublished work.
Although style points are awarded for being as fiendish in selection as
possible -- as the writer who posted all the punctuation of his latest
chapter -- it's not required. Be it noted, it's still four months
(short or long) till this thing hits bookstore shelves. So this is a
little premature, but not much.
Those who are highly spoiler-sensitive may now avert their eyes.
For the rest, here's the first sentence of the first chapter of _The
Sharing Knife, Vol. 3: Passage_... actually, it's the first paragraph as
well.

Dag was riding up the lane thinking only of a Bluefield farm lunch, and
his likelihood of needing a nap afterwards, when the arrow hissed past
his face.
Blame Laura, I say, for making those Puss-in-Boots eyes..
Ta, L. (Nice interior book design again, too, I note.)

(snips)
Oh ooh ooh ooh.
Can we have a snippet? Please? Anything? I live way too far away for
any readings. A paragraph? A funny sentence?
I'll be over here groveling for a list New Year's present.
Beggingly yours,
Laura Gallagher
