I realized that not everyone may know what I am referring to, so I will 
clarify:  The Damar books are _The Hero and the Crown_, and its prequel, 
_The Blue Sword_, the latter of which is a YA novel, but quite good. 
Recommended.  If you like Victorian or Regency settings, you may like 
the Damar books.  (They are fantasies set in an alternate universe, or 
possibly on another planet.)  I have enjoyed all of McKinley's books 
that I have read so far.
