of view.)


Speaking of Purses, Pockets, and possibly PDAs,

I carry the bare minimal necessary to scrape by.  Wallet contains:  A 
little cash (very little), ATM card, MasterCard, a couple of gas cards, 
three different bookstore discount cards, driver's license, movie rental 
card, spare key to the car, and a few receipts.  I don't wear a watch, 
and my car acts as a really giant backpack.  I no longer go places where 
I need a lot of junk, and so I carry a sack lunch in the car, and my 
data-carrying kit* in a plastic disposable shopping bag (when I go to my 
sister's).  I keep sugar tablets (basically candy) for those diabetic 
moments, in the car.  I should carry my blood testing meter, but I 
usually don't.  I admit that I have accumulated some duplicated items, 
on account of having to buy them on the spot, having left them behind at 
home.  (E.g., batteries, paperbacks.)  I do have a small flashlight that 
goes with me everywhere.  I don't seem to require a PDA.  Cell phone? 
Yes, but most often turned off, and left in the car.

I have gotten used to the minimalist's approach, and it works for me.
