snipping everyone's list of pockets/handbags...
it seems that what most women carry in handbags (pocketbooks) is what most
men carry in their pockets (lack of pockets in girly clothes being an old
rant of mine) and what my dad used to haul around in his fancy leather
business briefcase. its a combination of personal, medical, and
professional.
there was a few years that the main requirement of my pocketbook was that
the opening on top be big enough to carry my college lit book. why waste
train-ride time?
these days it has to be big enough for my spiral notebook and my teaching
stuff. most of my personal stuff - a pen, a piece of paper big enough for
scribbling ideas, my medical cards, some cash (heh, note order of
importance) is in a pencil case my kids don't want anymore. when i need to
swap from 'big tote' to 'little tote' on non school days, that's the main
thing to transfer, the rest is business or clutter.
bus card and coins for the inevitable person needing change of a dollar go
in the tiny side pocket of the pocketbook, transfer to coat pocket not wise
bec. my favorite warm coat has tiny pockets, and there's a good chance stuff
will fall out :(
ziviya, wisting after the deep pockets in my son's coat
