the animal does not dry out and burn.  A red wine based one would be great
for venison.

Maybe we should ask the list for suggestions for a suitable substitute for

Do you all think that we could, maybe at a con, put together a  
"Barrayaran" meal for the list?  We'd need to get our hands on venison  
and some good recipes for it (red deer were mentioned in _Barrayar,_  
and they were almost certainly kept for meat), goat milk, groats, and  
pastries.
