I can appreciate interspersing reply comments, as long as the quoted
material is kept very, very short.

I've seen some interspersed comment replies (from whom, I don't know) where
ALL the original very long content was kept.  I couldn't/wouldn't read the
entire old message to figure out what the one line reply meant.  

Why read 20 lines to puzzle out and find the single line the person actually
replied to?

I think that a page of quoted material is WAY too long!  I really appreciate
it when the quoted material can be kept to a sentence or, maybe two or
three.
