dag's version:  we went to wolf hill.  there were more of htem than we 
expected, and most of us died.  but we held the pass until the rest came, 
and the bad guys were all wiped out.

dag's friends version: several paragraphs longer, and did you hear about hte 
time that...

ziviya, wondering if dag ever had to rappel through a cave system.  if he 
has to do it in the next book, lois has a ready source of advisors...
