Hi Alex --

Sorry for the belated reply -- I just figured out that my blog space has
its own e-mail inbox. Oops...

Every writer has a different process, so I don't know what would work
for you. I've described mine at length on the interviews section at
www.dendarii.com You might look over the interviews and essays there,
for what it's worth to you. I use outlining as a way to capture
thought, a memory aid, and I make a lot of notes to put my thoughts in
order before sitting to actually write. You may also be one of those
people -- I am not -- who might work best verbally, speaking into a tape
(or whatever they're using nowadays) recorder, and then transcribing and
editing later.

No matter what way it's done, finishing something is always a lot of
hard work, and no fun at some point. Finding time is a matter of making
choices, always.

Viz the vision and keeping up with your reading, you might try the new
audiobooks market. They're now putting out a huge number of books as
MP3 downloads that folks can listen to on their iPods or whatever, and
that market is really taking off.

Good luck -- Lois.

I must say that I really loved Paladin of souls, The Curse of Chalion
and The Hallowed Hunt. They were both very deep and well designed
fantasy novels. Right now I have 3 other books of your work but the
truth is I am not a fast reader because my vision is different in each
eye. It is not a big deal I just get lost in the page.

I think that I have the capacity to be a good writer but I am a product
of caffeine, videogames and TV. My creativity comes in spurts but when
it comes to putting my thoughts on paper I either get frustrated or
distracted. I know that I have potential. Is there any advice from
your own experience that can help?

Your fan,
  Alex Davis
