I know my first introduction to Bujold was the excert from Cetaganda at the
back of some library book or another that I was reading, and I have to
admit, it didn't grab me enough to go looking for them - Cetaganda remains
my least favourite of the Vorkosigan books. I don't like what actually
happens in Mirror Dance, as it is an uncomfortable, but superbly written
read.
I would have just randomly grabbed one of them from the YA section at the
Hamilton Public Library. I think it was either Shards, WA or Memory and
from reading the first book through I was hooked and searched out the rest.
Started collecting from second hand stores when I couldn't find library
copies. Then I started buying new, and about the time of Paladin of Souls,
started collecting hardcover.
I wish I could remember which one it was now.
