In a post I read in Digest, Vol 36, Issue 2
"Francis Turner" <francis.turner at gmail.com> wrote in part
>I have consciously charged up by Cybook twice since I bought it ...

Francis probably knows this, but in case there are any Cybook users here who
want to continue to read books while charging the battery.
(Normally the Cybook goes into USB drive mode when it is connected to external
power via the usb cable - whether or there is a computer at the other end of
the usb cable, or just a wall socket mains power to usb adaptor).

If you put the reader into Slideshow mode (via the Advanced Menu) before
connecting the USB cable, then connect the external power, and then exit
slideshow mode, you can read while charging the battery (it helps if you use a
long USB extension cable).

(Slideshow mode exists to turn the reader into a grey scale, very expensive
digital picture frame, so it is designed to work with external power).

Another Tip for Cybook owners with a Windows computer.
The Mobipocket Desktop Reader is now at version 6.2
The latest seems to have added format conversion to .prc
There is an import button on the toolbar, or you can just drag and drop a file
(in one of the supported formats, including PDF) into the reader, to get a
crude but functional conversion into .prc saved to the default directory.
