I shouldn't complain, because I don't need ANOTHER internet stopping post,
but it seems to me that EOS doesn't really get the whole blog thing, and
they don't do much to nurture a blog community.

Ya gotta flog your blog! Make that puppy bring in the Sales!

which pretty much requires them to keep a distance and maintain a strict 
professional demeanor at all times.  The rough-and-tumble of, say, the 
Baen Board is only possible because Baen is a private company, owned 
personally by a very few people. ***

 

But I'm very glad you posted this; interesting materials. I thought the
second blog was also particularly enlightening. (BTW, both past blogs are
still in the "Recent Posts" column.)

*** Yes, they should all three still be up for some time.  Likewise the 
Fantasy Book Critic site interview, which covers some overlapping 
thoughts.  I wrote it and the blog posts both at about the same time, a 
few weeks back.

The Star Trib article, I'm told, only stays up for about two weeks, so 
if anyone wants to read it (or save it) they should do so soon.
