This is my first attempt to post to the list, so my apologies if I send this incorrectly. I've had the chance to read and re-read Passage and found it very thought-provoking, which is always my favorite kind of read. Alas, I don't have time right at this moment to detail all my thoughts on the work, but I did have a nagging editing wonder. It's just a small thing and I don't have the text in front of me to refer to the specific page, but I believe its shortly after page 100, just as Fawn is getting her first look at 'The Fetch' with Berry. After seeing the goat Fawn makes a statement that they have "milk, and some eggs." However I can't find any description or reference to chickens aboard. Perhaps it was much earlier and I over looked it? Re-reading the page I felt the "and eggs" statement was floating from out of nowhere, almost as if it was believed the goat somehow produced eggs as well as milk. I wondered if perhaps there had been a description of chickens that was
later removed. Perhaps the chickens were meant to be assumed? I know they are mentioned specifically much later. I wondered if anyone else was thrown off by the line, or perhaps they could lead me to the chicken reference I may be missing.
Thank you,
Sandra
(for those long-time listees who may recall her, my late mother, Jeanetta, was an avid and active listee several years ago, up until early 2002)
