I'm a little uneasy with the rationale that just because the author has 
been paid once, that makes it okay to copy his work.  But there are lots 
of places to find such things beside Usenet.  http://www.scribd.com/ is 
one.  Scribd may not be the best place to look, anymore, since they 
cleaned up their act a bit during the SFWA debacle.  There are other 
places.  Just keep your OS and web browser patched, in case you run into 
an evil site that attempts a malware exploit.
