[LMB] OT: Blue Metropolis festival in Montreal, Robert Sawyer, and the iLiad

Coupla things that are related to my recent attendance at Robert J.
Sawyer's reading at the Blue Metropolis Literary festival, in Montreal.
First, the "Sci Fi ghetto effect" struck in force, and there were only
about 20 people at the reading. Pretty sad, when you look at Sawyer's
awards worldwide, to think that we can only muster that size of a crowd!
But the fact that it's a literary festival and not a Sci Fi one makes a
big difference, of course.

Anyway, I met the author and he was really nice and friendly, and seems
to write a good story, so I thought since herself doesn't have anything
in this year's Hugo competition, I'd put in a plug for Sawyer for anyone
attending Denvention. I looked at joining just to vote, and $50 is a bit
steep, unfortunately...

And in eBook reader news, a fan gave Sawyer an iLiad, which looks like a
really cool one to me, but I'm no expert. Anybody here have any
experience with this one?
