I do admit, this is an issue that is preventing me from getting
into eBooks - that and I'm waiting for the technology to settle
down.

I'm really into audio books. I own a lot of books in 2 formats:
paper and audio. I don't mind paying twice for the audio book
version, because it seems to me that I'm paying as much for the
performance aspect as I am for the author's words.

But if I get into eBooks, I can foresee the day when I have to
pay 3 times for a book: paper, audio, and e-format. Now, much as
I love my favorite authors, one has to draw the line somewhere.

If I could buy a book (I'd even be willing to pay a slight bit
more for it than MM prices) and get both the paper version and a
cd with the ebook version on it, I might be much more tempted to
spend the big bucks for an ebook reader.

might. Because I don't want to pay $400 for something and
discover that I can only use one vendor for it or discover that
my favorite authors are being published in a non-compatible
format.
