I've been thinking about the absent gods also - though I'm sure the text
says they absented themselves rather than were suppressed by
lakewalkers. I wonder if it's possible that they are coming back?
Does anyone hear an echo of Cazaril in Dag? In Chalion especially there
is mention of people having been sent earlier by the five but turning
aside. Is it possible that Crane was sent earlier, but really turned
aside? And that Dag fits some of the role of Cazaril in that like him he
has not turned aside?
And it may be in the next book that there is an echo of Ingrey who the
five arranged to be figuratively swallowed whole by Wencel.
Also, I wonder if Fawn has the potential of being able to use her ground
as a healer. She certainly seems very effective in the foot rubs and
shoulder massages she provides to Dag, and he himself thought of her
being his assistant if he took up healing training.
