Can anyone tell me if, in Curse of Chalion (or Paladin of Souls, for that
matter), the word "unlight" ever appears? I'm thinking of references to the
curse.
The reason I ask: On the American Dialect Society list, a thread that began
with the plural "rooves" spawned (via "hoofs" and Poul Anderson) a
divergence that brought a question to me about Anderson's "Un-Man" or
"UN-Man", from someone researching words of the form "un" + noun. I thought
I remembered Cazaril describing the curse's dark aura as "unlight", but on
looking up his exchange with Umegat at the funeral I see he actually said
"anti-light". I skimmed a bit further for other mentions in his thought or
speech (besides as "darkness" or "shadow"), but I didn't go through the
whole rest of the book. If you know of its use in the text or can do an
esearch, I'd like to help this researcher. Thanks.
