Maybe she'd be more inclined to read my books if she knows the author enjoys the same anime. :) I'll be sure to point out the recommendations to her as well. She's always looking for a new anime (she's devoured almost all the manga in the library. It was a hard month for both of us when the library was closed to relocate).

Since I had nothing better to do with my life, I started watching what anime I could find on Cartoon Network.

The quintessential anime, I believe, is Dragonball (and its two sequels, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT). Neverending "ninja" fights, each lasting for weeks.

However, the ones I liked were just as fantasy-oriented, only slightly more adult in outlook: Witch Hunter Robin, Wolfs Rain, Full Metal Alchemist, Paranoia Agent (weird), Fooly Cooly (six of the most over-the-top gonzo episodes I have ever watched), Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Blue Gender, and then another neverending (well, they stopped making new shows, but the story didn't end) show, Inuyasha.

Alas! CN has quit showing that kind of anime.
