Woo hoo!

Blackstone royalties for the last half of '07 arrived today, and very 
nice they are.  Sales are up on every title, even the older ones, an 
effect I put down to the power of cross-selling -- the more there is to 
choose from, the more the customers will choose.  And the new titles are 
earning out their initial advances with alacrity.

As usual, the details are interesting and revealing.  Only a handful of 
my sales are on physical media, mostly, I suspect, to libraries.  (In 
fact, if my sales were limited to physical media, I'd be a disaster.)  
90% to 95% and more are MP3 downloads sold over the internet, and which 
are moving very briskly indeed -- flying off the virtual shelves.  
Internet commerce (and improved tech -- iPods and so on) have really 
made a huge difference in this medium.
