The part that got me about Jurassic Park (and all the other SF and skiffy that reproduces dinosaurs) is the choice to use amphibian DNA to repair the gaps in reconstructed sequences rather than the modern species that are most closely related, such as birds. One could even maintain the parthenogenesis storyline with something as distantly related as (for instance) Komodo Dragons, since they have had incidents recorded. As for movies in general, the funniest part of watching the big firefighting movies with firefighters is that they're split between the ones that don't care about all the stupid stuff because they just like the fire and heroic depictions and the ones that end up saying "That was stupid" over and over.
