I would vote for you, if I didn't have to sign up! It sounds like a wonderful dream! (I once read a book about a guy who visited the shrines of Shikoku on a circuit -- it used to be a very famous pilgramage, and people would walk around the entire island visiting shrines. However, by his time, a lot of the "road" had turned to traces. So, I'm probably too late to do that. But, wandering around visiting new places always sounds like a good idea to me.)

Dragging it back on topic, where in the Bujold universes would you like to do a dream assignment? (-: *I* can't decide. Hiking Silica on Beta sounds good. Taking a flatboat down the river sounds like tons of fun, especially with Captain Berry! (I wonder if she could retire, and take tourists down the river after her kids are grown; industrialization might make that kind of leisure class possible in the next 30 or 40 years.) Visiting the castles of Chalion -- only, I'd like it to be 300 years later, in air-conditioned tour buses (-:. Of course, the tour guides would be extremely well-informed, multi-lingual, and loads of fun. We'd walk, eat, get on the bus, walk, eat, get on the bus, enjoy the wonders of a modern Chalionese spa, eat, rest in luxury, and do it all again for the next six days (-:. Kind of like a Utopian Japanese Overseas Tour, with NO duty-free shops (OK, maybe one duty-free shop at the very end for people who enjoy that kind of thing. But
I will stay on the bus and read my books that I picked up at the Chalionese National Art Museum.)

LOL! Where would you go? What would you do?
