Don't forget the avocado green and some shade of medium blue pairing. I lived with an avocado & white kitchen, when ours was remodelled about the time I was in jr. high.
> In 1964, I think it was, there were three color combos that made a fashion splash: hot pink and bright orange, bright orange and bright yellow, and lime green and either medium blue, navyish blue, or turquoise (didn't care for that one much--or at least my mother didn't). There was a women's mag at the time, Ladies Home Journal. Their motto was:
> Never underestimate the power of a woman
> I think they commissioned fabric to be made, in those colors, with yellow text on orange, orange text on pink, and green text on blue. My mother purchased a quantity of the first combo, and I think we all had matching skirts (of the dirndl style) that year.
> New topic: It was our mother, not our father, who took us out one night in 1959, hoping to see Sputnik.
