Something like that happened to a guy who lived for a while with  
Aleister Crowley.  A magazine called _The Looking Glass_ insinuated  
that he was Crowley's gay lover, he sued the magazine, and after a  
bunch of very surreal testimony, the verdict was more-or-less that  
anybody who would live with Crowley would have to deal with  
insinuations about his sexuality, since Crowley's reputation was that  
bad.
