> I have a computer originally bought in 1993 (486, running Windows 3.1). I haven't used it in some years but it still has some files that would be useful. Alas, the floppy drive seems to have died.
> Any suggestions on how to get files off the hard disk? There's more data than I want to try to send over the net using its rather slow modem.
> I'm in the UK, not far from London.
Yes. Open it up, if youcan, and detatch the hard drive.
Find an external IDE HD Enclosure, and connect it up.
Connect the new external HD to your newer computer... and it's done.
What am I doing here
and the rest of me
still in bed
with tea bags...?
