Not quite.  There is a common parasite in cats that is capable of altering
human behavior in adults, and causing severe brain damage in infants:
Toxoplasma
gondii <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasma_gondii> .

Which is why it's so important for pregnant women not to have any contact
with litter boxes.  Not to mention that, aside from mind-altering
parasites, cat feces contain large amounts of bacteria that can have
serious negative effects on humans.  So if your child has been playing near
litter boxes, you have reasons to be concerned.
