Ooops, wrong term, I meant plugs to be blockages to prevent the release of 
sperm, the what, vas deferens or some such.

Gah.

Meanwhile, I wonder what the ba physiological and biochemistry is..

It doesn't work for everyone, though....

There are women who can go through a litany, "This one was my pill baby,
that one was the IUD baby.." etc.

Why not automatically put plugs in urethras instead, which don;t involve
putting artificial hormone implants into a body??!  Why should it be the
girls who get the foreign object implants? !!!

Oh-kay...so what if pregnancy and disease are both extremely, EXTREMELY,
unlikely to happen?  As I understand it, Norplant works for about four
years at a time per dose.

If all girls are automatically given Norplant at age 14 or so ("you get
Norplant or you get a closed-casket funeral after we turn Eric loose on
you...your choice!") then pregnancy gets to be about as rare among them as
being eaten by sharks.  Then what is the big objection?
