Skullsplitter - a lot of Vikings had nicknames like that, indicating what fierce warriors they were. For our poet-prince-pirate to earn it for the number of sagas he had memorized is a very neat subversion of that trope.
And "Jokol" is *very* close to the Icelandic word for Volcano.
