Baking chocolate from e.g. Hershey, used to come in a box wih individual one 
ounce square pieces each individually wrapped up.

Literally there were squares of chocolate.

Then the price started shooting up...

on the
specialized vocabulary for chocolate. (One square? I always have to look 
that one
up in the dictionary when I hear it.)
