NOT US politics! Just imagine Cordelia or Alys in the role detailed below.

She's portraying the Duchess of Krakenthorp, a non-singing role, in Donizetti's opera La Fille du Régiment, for the opening night. There's a sketch of her ensemble in the article.

This role has often been filled by women of renown, and can steal the show.

Notorious RBG* has been fond of opera her entire life, and would like to have been an operatic diva, but for one fact: she can't sing.

* A group of young women crowned her with this title. Had to be explained to her, but she was pleased by the idea. One of the T-shirts bore the motto Fear the Frill, referring to her myriad of collars she wears when robed. A certain Betan "frill" could also be considered for such a slogan.
