From: Harvey FishmanWhat good is a lightflyer in a forest?

Beatrice Otter:It takes less work to clear landing spots than roads. A lightflyer goes over the forest until it reaches its destination and sets down. A groundcar requires a road through the forest until it reaches its destination.  Groundcars go THROUGH the landscape (which means you have to modify it to suit them) , whereas lightflyers, like planes, go ABOVE the landscape. Lightflyers are clearly superior to groundcars.
Poly is not clearly superior to monogamy, nor is monogamy clearly superior to poly.  Which is better depends on a lot of factors ranging from personal preferences of the individuals involved to communication abilities to context and social pressure.
