I therefore apologize for offending the list.

Christian, husband, father, granddaddy, son, American. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me.

-------- Original message --------From: WILLIAM A WENRICHExcuse me but the Antifa is a world wide organization. The use of the word gender also. Are you saying that only Americans are either racist or should be called racist? I believe I was posting about a world wide phenomenon. You disagreed with my definitions but never said how. So instead of engaging me you shut me down by calling it US politics.Beatrice Otter:William, we all know what your political slant is, and where you are from, and that while such topics are worldwide, inevitably a discussion of them would quickly be drawn into US politics. Just like it would if I were to make a post coming at the same topic from a liberal slant. The list has a long history of not allowing exactly that sort of rules lawyering to get around the ban. And trying to slide forbidden topics into discussion and then trying to claim some kind of victory or moral high ground when someone refuses to let you get away with it is frankly kind of icky. The ban exists for a reason. We have never been able to have a civil discussion of US politics that doesn't devolve into battle lines and slogans and strawmen, and while we can all find that MANY places online if we want it, there are not many places for discussion of LMB's works.Beatrice Otter
