[LMB] Sharing Knife - more stray thoughts

I love the way Lois twists things around.
We have the Lakewalkers, who harvest bones at a funeral, who
make knives and flutes out of human bone. There's someone at
the bow-down playing on a flute not only made from human
bone, but bone from a relative. Someone he knew. And yet it's
all so full of life and love, not gruesome at all.

Another stray thought: the Lakewalkers have a hairstyle code,
plus special decorations for social events, etc. But Dag cuts his
hair short: easier to deal with when you only have one hand.
Is that all? He keeps his ground tamped down, he has rigid
control of his emotions; maybe cutting his hair short is another
way to send a clear signal that he's not engaging emotionally.

How much does height affect the way people treat us? Fawn blames
her height for most of her problems, she believes people wouldn't
patronise or underestimate her if she was taller.
