That, at least, is unlikely.  Miles isn't the kind to play with
dangerous tools without first learning what they can do and what
their hazards are (RTFM or consult an expert).  Nor to ignore
this-will-kill-you warnings except in emergencies, still aware of the
risks but judging that the situation warrants risking his life.

And he has demonstrated an awareness of the value of using minimal
force when possible: "It's not how much force you use.  It's where you
apply it."  Compare with: "And the Bastard grant us in our direst need,
the smallest gifts: the nail of the horseshoe, the pin of the axle,
the feather at the pivot point, the pebble at the mountain's peak,
the kiss in despair, the one right word.  In darkness, understanding."
