Technical nitpick: There's no prohibition against mixing random fabrics.
Specifically, sheep-wool and flax-linen are forbidden. No reason is given.

Possibly it is a reminder of the first murder in the bible - when Cain the
farmer killed Abel the shepherd. (See also the American West, where people
wore a linsey-woolsey mixture, but farmer/herder arguments over the proper
use of land led to many killings.
