It used to be very inadvisable to bathe to often in Christianity. Bathing too oft could get you a visit 
from the Inquisition under suspicion of heresy  or practicing Islam or Judaism. This was usually 
fatal after much torture.

Of course our planet has its mood swings – it is, after all, bipolar.
