Further to the questions related to ANY "space force" (not
wholly U.S. centric) and having already raised the question
about Naval or Army ranks...

So already "Spacemen" is off the table.

Sounds like "Red Shirts" will also be summarily rejected. 

Ditto "Brown Coats" I suppose.

Treating a military branch like a family and playing
off the term "Space Force" gives us "Force Kin".
But that violates the gender neutral requirement. At 
least.

Is there any reference in Bujold or SF that gives 
us a good solution?
