I've seen marriages go bad sometimes,  but there's nothing in the world
like a good one to keep you happy.
Interesting data point: looking at the peer group I hang around with in
Dallas Fandom, my age or older, there's been like one divorce in the last
25ish years.  A lot of us were and still are single,  but the ones who do
pair up seem to be in for the duration.  I suspect common interests and
common friends help a lot there.
