[LMB] Five Gods Afterlives, a bit of 5GU theology

This isn't actually OT--but the last episodes of THE GOOD PLACE dealt with
static souls going relatively nuts in the Real Good Place; boredom was
epidemic/endemic. This was resolved by the ability to walk over the line in
the forest and let your soul-stuff float back up into the ether (where one
presumes, but it's never stated) that it either reaches Unity or is recycled
into new lives (that part isn't given out. The one person in the party who
sticks around (Tehani) is presumed to now be part of the staff after having
learned an exhaustive list of skills that had nothing to do with her being
in a rich family or Camilla's sister (long story). One by one, the members
of the original party depart (except for Tehani)--though Jason develops even
more because he wants to wait to say goodbye to Janet one more time. It's a
really good idea to have a handkerchief or dishtowel for the final bits...

In contrast, the afterlife in LUCIFER is the standard Heaven/Hell (though
even as a Protestant, I would argue for Purgatory), though the punishment in
Hell doesn't really work that well if you don't feel any guilt or regrets
(save for being caught).

I imagine the afterlife in the 5GU is a soul becoming 'vastened' (to borrow
a verb from the Gateway universe by Pohl, and judging by a few books which
have collected near-death experiences. Some of them sound a LOT like
Cazaril's experience, free from the limitations of the physical body.
